"Now I can no longer ask for even half a smile;
see my pain, the courage I once had is gone.
My deprivation has passed beyond all bounds, yet the face of need
still holds at the sanctuary’s threshold the same intent as before."
-Orfí Shirazi-

Orfi Shirazi’s verses speak of pain (dardam – دردم ) that drains courage and deprivation (harman – حرمان ) that exceeds all limits, yet still bends in humility before the sanctuary. These words gather their weight in the single term hobút – هبوط : the fall, a descent that is not only collapse but also surrender, a turning of loss into devotion. In contrast, the canvas remains visually simple: green ground, red calligraphy flowing downward, and the quiet presence of words anchoring the whole. This pared-down surface lets the depth of the poetry resound all the more strongly, where meaning falls heavy though form stays light. ( size of canvas 70×30 cm )
